The Split Set

Inspired by disorganized attachment, the Split Set explores the feeling of being pulled between opposing desires. The design reflects the internal conflict of craving connection while simultaneously fearing it, creating a constant tension between closeness and distance.

The white halter top represents security, trust, and the desire for healthy connection, while the black skirt symbolizes withdrawal, self-protection, and the instinct to pull away. The contrast between the two reflects the push and pull that defines disorganized attachment. The silver chain detailing introduces an element of disruption, representing the unpredictability and emotional complexity of this attachment style. Intentionally placed in an uneven, disorganized arrangement, the chains embody the feeling of being pulled in multiple directions at once.

The set features a crochet halter top and coordinating asymmetrical skirt with metal chain detailing. The piece shown is available for purchase and best fits sizes XS–M. Custom sizing is also available upon request.
